Lady Lion gymnasts still perfect at 5-0

WAYNESBORO — The Altoona Area High School gymnastics team continued its winning ways Thursday night, disposing of Waynesboro, 130.4-124.95 in scholastic action.

With the win, the Lady Lions are now 5-0.

“Outstanding team effort, led by Linae Heaster and Karis McGhee in the all around,” Altoona coach Mark Biseli said.

Heaster won the vault with a mark of 9.05, and also took home top honors in the floor exercise with an 8.6 mark. McGhee finished first in the bars with a score of 8.35. Heaster was second in the all around at 33.95 while McGhee placed third at 33.2

Emma Hotchkiss of Waynesboro won the beam, but Heaster followed in second with McGhee in third.

The Lady Lions are off until next Tuesday, Feb. 3, when they welcome Waynesboro to town.
