Hollidaysburg’s Garrett Bouchard and Felix Xu, the top-seeded team in the District 4-6 Class 3A doubles tournament at Mansion Park, advanced to the final on Tuesday with a quarterfinal win over two Williamsport players and a semifinal triumph over Eric Liu and Frank Hsu of State College, 6-4, 6-2.

Liu played for the District 6 3A individual title last week before coming up short.

The Golden Tiger duo will take on Jude Cessna and Evan Zhang, the second-seeded team, from State College. The Little Lion pair topped Hollidaysburg’s Michael Waibel and Jacob Sidney in the quarterfinals before topping third-seeded Dylan Batrus and Owen Wasovich of Altoona, 6-2, 6-0 in the semifinals.

Batrus and Wasovich defeated teams from Mifflin County and Central Mountain to make the semifinals.

The championship will take place today, most likely at the Summit Tennis & Athletic Center due to rain in the forecast, at noon.
