A city woman found with crack cocaine is behind bars after being charged with trafficking illicit drugs.

Tina Louise Hennessey, 56, was arraigned Tuesday on a felony charge of possession with intent to deliver and misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Unable to post $150,000 bail, she was remanded to the Blair County Prison. Her preliminary hearing is set for May 6 before Magisterial District Judge Daniel C. DeAntonio.

According to Altoona police, officers/agents/troopers from the Blair County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at Hennessey’s home on the 100 block of East Second Avenue, Altoona, about 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The search warrant was part of an investigation into Hennessey and drug trafficking in the area, police reported.

When law enforcement entered the home, they found Hennessey along with drug paraphernalia in plain view, the report states.

Hennessey was taken into custody and taken to the Altoona Police Department, where during a search officers allegedly located five grams of crack cocaine with a street value of $500.

Law enforcement then searched the home and reportedly found, inside a purse, 130 stamped bags of heroin with a street value of $2,600; one ounce of purple fentanyl with a street value of $28,500; two ounces of heroin/fentanyl with a street value $56,000; 33 grams of crack cocaine with a street value of $3,300; and eight grams of cocaine with a street value of $800.

The search also turned up a loaded, 22 caliber semi-automatic rifle, along with $7,076 in cash. Additionally, multiple pieces of packaging materials, scales, multiple cellphones and “owe sheets” were found.

The investigation was led by the Altoona Police Department and the Tyrone Police Department. They were assisted by state police, the FBI, the state Office of Attorney General and AMED.
