Waite tosses complete-game gem in Altoona’s baseball win

Altoona defeated Cedar Cliff, 2-0, at Mansion Park in high school baseball Tuesday.
Connor Waite threw a complete game three-hitter while striking out 10 and walking only one. Waite’s 10th strikeout ended the game and stranded runners on second and third.
Nick Kraft and Carter McConnell each had run scoring singles for Altoona while Kraft totaled two hits on the day.

Cole Hartman went the distance on the mound and struck out five.

ALEXANDRIA — Williamsburg rallied with three runs in the top of the seventh inning to tie the game, but Nate Rodkey’s walk-off single gave Juniata Valley an 8-7 win.
Rodkey finished with two hits and five RBIs and also homered.
The Blue Pirates got three hits, including a triple, from Ethan Reffner.
