Name: Emalee Cavender School: Claysburg-Kimmel Age: 17 Grade: Junior Sport: Softball Athlete of the week achievement: Cavender didn’t give up an earned run in 12 innings pitched as Claysburg-Kimmel advanced to the District 6 Class 1A final with a 10-0 win over Bishop McCort and an 8-1 win over Glendale. She also went 4-for-6 with three doubles and a triple, scored four runs and knocked in two runs. Season update: Cavender is hitting .535 with 38 hits, 31 RBIs, eight home runs and 32 stolen bases.
