Lions, Tigers both pick up shutouts

Altoona blanked Tussey Mountain by a 7-0 score in boys high school tennis Tuesday on senior day at the Gorilla House Gym.

Luke Mitchell, Dylan Batrus, Owen Wasovich and Liem King Settles won singles matches for the Mountain Lions, while the doubles team of Avery Lanzendorfer-Aiden Aiken, Sean Ratchford-Max Chille and Jude Brunhuber-Carter Free claimed wins.

Mitchell and Chille were honored as the only two seniors for Altoona, now 10-5.

Tigers celebrate

Hollidaysburg celebrated senior day by sweeping Tyrone, 5-0, at The Summit Tennis & Athletic Club.

Felix Xu, Yvan Chen and Aamir Azad earned wins in singles action, while the doubles teams of Alex Arbogast and Jacob Sidney, and William Zhu and Colin Gardner were victorious for the Golden Tigers, now 10-2.

Chen is the lone senior on the Tigers’ roster.
