BOWIE, Md. — This has been a rough week so far for the Curve, whose big opportunity has looked like a big mismatch. Bowie blew out Altoona for the third straight game Thursday afternoon, rolling to a 13-4 victory at Prince Georges Stadium. BOWIE, Md. — The biggest series of the season to date has produced two uncompetitive games for the Curve, who need to regroup and make the best of things the rest of the week. HARRISBURG — The Curve got some excellent pitching over the weekend, and the offense did just enough in one of the two games to at least slip out of town here with one victory. Harrisburg beat Altoona on Saturday night, 2-1, then the Curve salvaged the final game of the series with a 3-2 victory in 10 innings Sunday afternoon at FNB Field. Blake Sabol homered in the eighth inning Sunday for a 2-1 lead, but Harrisburg pulled even in its half of the frame. Curve win streak halted

HARRISBURG — The Curve entered the All-Star break riding a four-game winning streak, but that came to an end in the first game back from the break Friday night. Harrisburg built a cushion early and held on late for a 7-5 win over Altoona at FNB Field. It was the Curve’s first game since Sunday, and the loss knocked them out of first place as Bowie moved a half-game ahead in the Southwest Division standings.
