James S. Frederick, 77, of Roaring Spring, died Wednesday. He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Samuel and Mary (Shoop) Frederick. Surviving are his wife, Connie; children: Tracy Little, Becky Light and Joe and James R. Frederick; his grandchildren; and brothers: Robert, Richard and Donald; He was predeceased by a brother, Samuel. Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2026, at Faith Assembly of God Church, Roaring Spring; and from 1 until the 2 p.m. service Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at the church. Shirley Jean Hartman, 84, of Claysburg, passed Wednesday at UPMC Altoona. She was born in Claysburg, daughter of the late Ira and Goldie (Walter) Claar. She married George W. Hartman on April 21, 1962, in Winchester, Va. He passed away on Oct. 4, 2019.
