Richard Joseph Pulcino, 76, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Wednesday evening at his residence. He was born in Altoona, the son of the late Amerigo and Ellenor (Villano) Pulcino.

He married Camille JoAnn (Ruscito) at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on April 20, 1974.

Richard is survived by his wife; siblings: Marie Pulcino, Christine Schriar (Ron) and William Pulcino (Beverly); sister-in-law, Sharon Byrne (Michael); nieces and nephews: Michelle Trompeo

(Stefano), Tyler Pulcino, Bridgid Byrne (Michael), Katlyn Snyder (James) and James Byrne (Rachel); and many great-nieces and nephews.

He was a 1968 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School and was an avid and talented football player. Rick then graduated from Penn State University with an associate degree in engineering in 1973.

He worked for PennDOT for 35 years, retiring as a Roadway Manager Service Coordinator in 2005. He was a lifetime member of the American Society of Highway Engineers.

Rick was a football fanatic, not only a big Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State fan, but a passionate coach for many years at Bishop Guilfoyle and Hollidaysburg Catholic.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg.

Rick was very active at the Hollidaysburg YMCA and was involved with their Biddy League and was a weightlifting trainer.

He often did volunteer work with Sister Paula DelGrosso.

Rick enjoyed working in his yard and doing home improvement projects. He loved to cook and go out to eat, as he was very much a “foodie.” He was also an animal lover and trained and owned many beloved dogs, especially his Teddy.

Rick was incredibly giving and supportive, intentional and constant; he will be greatly missed and remembered by all that knew and loved him.
