Carole Lee Kephart, 86, Houtzdale, passed away Tuesday. She was born in Brisbin, a daughter of the late Andrew and Elverta (Lobb) Evans. Carole was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; and sisters: Delores Washell, Jeannie Rhymestine and Florence Carrell. Surviving is a son, Michael; several grandchildren; and sisters, Joyce Wilson and Dessie Rowlands. Carole loved being outdoors, riding motorcycles and was dedicated to rescuing animals. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until the 1 p.m. service Monday, April 14, 2025, at Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., Houtzdale.

Father Bernard Leon White, 75, of Cresson, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at UPMC Altoona. At his request, there will be no obituary. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the Immaculate Conception Church in Dudley. Janet L. Cullen, 82, of Altoona, passed away Wednesday morning at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Robert and Belva (Pennel) Doll. Janet married Herman W. “Mike” Cullen on Dec. 30, 1964. He preceded her in death on Nov. 18, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa A. Cullen, on Sept. 16, 2014; and a sister, Carol Doll. She is survived by her sister, Kay Monahan of Altoona; dear friend, Charles Gibbons of Altoona; and numerous nieces and nephews.
