Barbara Karl, 86, of Altoona, living in Dunedin, Fla., passed away peacefully on Aug. 26, 2024.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Karl Jr.; and parents, Mildred and Edward Burchfield.
She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Karl, and son-in-law, James Hammitt, who lovingly cared for her until her death. She is also survived by her siblings: Joan
Riccio of Virginia Beach, Va., Mary Hawks of Orlando, Fla., Michael Burchfield of Annandale, Va., and Regina (Jeannie) Skelley of Ocoee, Fla.; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; extended family and friends.
Barbara worked for the A&P Tea Co. for more than 25 years. She was employed by the Altoona School District until she moved to Florida in 2016.
She was an avid bowler and enjoyed her sports channels.
A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2025, at The Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament, Altoona. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Barbara will be forever missed and remembered by all those who knew her.
