W. Dean Esper Jr., 69, of Altoona, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, May 18, 2025. He was born in Altoona, a son of the late W. Dean Sr. and M. Naomi (Harclerode) Esper. Mr. Esper attended Dry Run Independent Baptist Church. Dean was a teacher, coach and guidance counselor for 30 years in the Altoona Area School District. He enjoyed going to Penn State football and basketball games, Altoona Curve games, and numerous local high school and college games. Charles Hescox, 82, of Blandburg, died Wednesday at his residence. He was born in Smoke Run, son of the late Charles and Catherine (Novosel) Hescox. Surviving is a daughter, Theresa Hescox; grandchildren: Breanna McCollough and Katelyn and Olivia Feige; a sister, Cecilia Hescox; and a niece, Gina Keating.
