Douglas Gregory Tompkins, 60, of Tyrone, died unexpectedly Monday at his residence. He was born in Greensboro, N.C., the son of William Herbert and Margery (Blankenship) Tompkins. He is survived by his mother, Margery of Columbia, S.C.; his wife, Cathy (Glenn) Tompkins of Tyrone; a daughter, Emily Dorman (Nathan) of Pittsburgh; his brothers: David, Michael and Jeffrey Tompkins; brother-in-law, Thomas B. Lawrence M. ‘Larry’ Wittig

Lawrence M. “Larry” Wittig, 73, passed away May 28, 2025. He was born in Pittsburgh, son of the late George and Evelyn (Tobin) Wittig. Surviving are his wife, Sharon; children: Terra Wertz, Shauna Bennett, Corey Wittig and Kaitlyn Wittig Menguc; six grandchildren; and brothers, Robert and Gregory. He was also preceded in death by siblings: George, James, Daniel and Margaret. Larry served in the U.S. Air Force from 1969-73. A service will be held on his birthday, Monday, June 16, 2025, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Pittsburgh Friends Meeting House, 4836 Ellsworth Ave., Pittsburgh.

John P. Woods, 97, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Wednesday. He was born in Hollidaysburg, son of the late Thomas F. and Anna S. (Helsel) Woods. He married June E. Anderson in 1949, and she preceded him in death in 1998 after sharing 49 years of marriage. Surviving are a daughter, Susan P. Lingenfelter in Maryland; a son, Timothy P., and wife, Kathy, of Hollidaysburg; five grandchildren: Julie, Justin, Alison, Annie and Michael; many great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sally Janeiro. Ashtin Drew Caruso, 18, of Martinsburg, passed away Monday. He was born in Johnstown, son of Jason and Patricia “Patti” Caruso. Surviving are his parents; brothers: Domenick Minnoia, (twin) Aydin Caruso and Braydin Caruso; girlfriend, Lily; great-grandmother, Peggy Carnill; grandparents: Raymond and Sharon Caruso and Helen Rogers. A celebration of life picnic will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 2025, at the Caruso’s home, 109 N. Nicodemus St., Martinsburg.
