Gertrude “Kay” (Helsel) Merritts, 86, of Duncansville, passed away Sunday. She was born in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Clyde and Anna (Kifer) Helsel. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; and a son, Tom. Surviving is her daughter, Brenda Merritts; two sons, Brian and Troy Merritts; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. David W. Yingling Sr., 77, of Hollidaysburg, died Monday. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Claire and Dorothy (Mosel) Yingling. Surviving are his wife, Helen; sons, David Jr. and Stephen; several grandchildren; and a brother, Denny. He was preceded in death by two sons, Mark and Timmy. David was a U.S. Army veteran.
