Traffic stops in Altoona result in arrests of three for drug trafficking

Three people are behind bars after coordinated traffic stops in Altoona turned up “significant quantities of methamphetamine, heroin, fentanyl and crack cocaine.”

According to information from the state Office of Attorney General, Lindsey Marie Longenecker, 42, of Queen; Corey “Ghost” Francisco Hilario, 38, of Allentown; and Shawnta E. Carmon, 45, of Allentown, were arrested this week on charges related to the drug trafficking investigation in Blair County.

The three were arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Matthew Dunio on Wednesday morning.

Longenecker faces three felony charges of possession with intent to deliver, a felony charge of criminal use of a communication facility, two misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance and a summary traffic violation.

Longenecker’s bail was set at $300,000 and she was remanded to the Blair County Prison.

Hilario faces six felony charges of possession with intent to deliver, a felony charge of conspiracy – intent to deliver and a felony charge of criminal use of a communication facility, along with six misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance.

His bail was set at $400,000 and he was remanded to the Blair County Prison.

Carmon six felony charges of possession with intent to deliver, a felony charge of conspiracy – intent to deliver and a felony charge of criminal use of a communication facility, a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance and a summary vehicle code violation for improper sunscreening.

Her bail was set at $250,000 and she was remanded to the Blair County Prison.

All three face preliminary hearings on May 27.

According to the AG’s office, law enforcement observed two vehicles meeting in the parking lot of a Burger King near Pleasant Valley Boulevard and Kettle Street in Altoona before conducting separate traffic stops on both vehicles.

During the first stop, K-9 Blue alerted to the odor of a controlled substance inside an Audi sedan occupied by Hilario and driver Carmon. Both individuals were transported to the state police barracks in Hollidaysburg.

A second traffic stop involving Longenecker’s Nissan Rogue also resulted in a K-9 alert for the presence of narcotics.

Search warrants were later executed on both vehicles.

Investigators recovered:

— Five pounds of crystal methamphetamine, street valued at $179,200.

— Six grams of heroin and fentanyl, street valued at $3,000.

— About 2.5 ounces of crack cocaine, valued at $7,000.

— $1,893 in cash, a digital scale and additional drug-packaging materials.

The investigation was conducted with assistance from Tyrone and Altoona police departments, Blair County District Attorney’s Office, Blair County Drug Task Force, state police and FBI.
