Man accused of sexual assault of children in Bedford County

Metro

A former Bedford County resident faces more than 120 charges related to the sexual assault of two children several years ago.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Titus Mitchell Squier, 24, of Grantsville, Md., allegedly began assaulting the two female victims when he was 15-16 years old.

The victims said the assaults began when they lived in Somerset County when they and Squier were juveniles and the assaults continued when they moved to Southampton Township, Bedford County, the report states.

The first victim recalled one incident occurred right before St. Patrick’s Day in 2016 or 2017, when she walked into Squier’s room while he was watching porn. At that time, he showed her what he was watching and wanted her to perform the sex acts seen in the video, she told police.

She said he sexually assaulted her seven or eight times in the early morning hours when other household members were sleeping or not home.

The second victim said she was not assaulted in the old house, but once they moved to Bedford County the assaults began. She told police she recalls being assaulted 13 to 15 times.

The investigation into the alleged assaults began in March, state police reported.

Squier was arraigned Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge Kayla Hetzel in Bedford County. He faces seven felony charges each of rape of a child, statutory sexual assault: 4-8 years older, sexual assault and sexual assault – complainant under 13 years of age; 20 felony counts each of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child and aggravated indecent assault – complainant less than 13 years old; 23 felony counts each of corruption of minors and unlawful contact with a minor; and 10 felony counts of indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age.

Unable to post $500,000 bail, he was remanded to the Bedford County Correctional Facility. He faces a preliminary hearing May 6 in Bedford County Central Court.
