Delays in Breezewood possible
Short delays are expected Monday in Breezewood, Bedford County.
According to PennDOT, a short-term lane closure will be implemented in the eastbound lane of Route 30 (Lincoln Highway) in segment 650, the area between North Main Street and Route 2029 (Breezewood Road) beginning Monday, July 21.
Motorists can expect single-lane restrictions, standard daylight flagging operations and short delays.
I-99 lane closures expected
Beginning Tuesday, July 22, there will be short-term lane closures on I-99 northbound between the Frankstown Road exit and 17th Street exit. The contractor will be reducing traffic to a single lane for concrete patching Tuesday and Wednesday.
New Enterprise Stone and Lime Inc., New Enterprise, is the contractor for the $23.5 million project, which includes improvements along 10-miles of I-99 from the median cross-over near Newry to 17th Street exit in Blair County. The work is scheduled to be completed in September.
Overnight detour planned
An overnight detour will begin Wednesday of Route 8009, Ramps A and B, from Route 4009 (10th Avenue) onto Route 36 (18th Street) for the Mill Run Bridge Project in Altoona, Blair County, to begin June 23.
The contractor will be closing and implementing detours of Route 8009, Ramps A and Ramp B, from Route 4009 (10th Ave) onto Route 36 (18th Street) in the City of Altoona. Detours will be in place from 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, to 6 a.m. Thursday, July 24. The detour will be continued overnight July 24 if necessary.
Southbound traffic on Route 36 (Union Avenue) will exit at the 17th Street exit off Route 4009 (10th Avenue) and proceed along 17th Street to Margaret Avenue, turn right onto Margaret Avenue and proceed to Route 36 (Union Avenue/Broad Avenue).
Northbound traffic on Route 4009 (10th Avenue) will exit at 15th Street on the right and turn left onto 13th Avenue to the intersection with Route 38 (18th Street) and right onto Route 36.
The work is part of the Mill Run Bridge project, slated to be completed during the 2025 construction season.
Cottle’s Asphalt Maintenance Inc., of Everett, is the contractor for the $7.4 million project, which includes the replacement of the bridge, installation of a left-turn lane from Route 36 onto 31st Street (City Street), improved drainage and guide rail upgrades over 4.218 miles of roadway.
