DUNCANSVILLE — A 32-year-old man was killed in an early morning house fire early Friday morning.
According to the Blair County Coroner’s Office, Daniel King was pronounced dead at the scene of a residential fire along the 100 block of Adams Lane, Duncansville.
The Allegheny Township Fire Department was called at 12:13 a.m. Friday morning, their tanker and assistant chief were almost immediately on the scene, said Deputy Chief Michael Luther. The fire was controlled by 1:20 a.m.
There was a structural collapse in the house halfway through the fire, destroying the living room, kitchen and second story. The bedroom and bathroom suffered smoke damage.
First responders made entry through the bedroom window, Luther said, and extricated King from the building, taking him into EMS care.
Blair County Coroner Ray S. Benton was dispatched to the scene for a fire death investigation about 12:40 a.m. Upon his arrival, he pronounced King dead. King was the only occupant of the residence, according to a news release.
King’s cause of death is pending investigation and an autopsy is scheduled for Saturday at Mount Nittany Medical Center, the release stated.
Luther said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
