Man faces charges over lewd images
Brothers allegedly sent obscene pictures to minors
An Ebensburg man faces multiple charges after police allege he sent photos of his genitals to two minor girls via Snapchat.
According to court documents, a female victim from Clearfield Township, Cambria County, told Ebensburg police on Aug. 18 that she chatted with Andrew Michael Brothers, 42, of Ebensburg, after a group of friends went side-by-side riding on June 19.
The victim said she thought they were just friends until he started sending her Snapchat messages every day, which she thought was odd due to his age.
In July, the victim said Brothers sent her pictures of his genitals five or six times, and while her mother didn’t know about the pictures, she made the girl delete the account from her Snapchat. The girl said she gave Brothers’ account information to a friend, so she could continue chatting with him.
Also on Aug. 18, police spoke with the victim’s friend and mother in Patton Borough, where the mother said her daughter also received photos of Brothers’ genitals.
The mother said Brothers knew both girls were minors.
Brothers was arraigned Tuesday before Magisterial District Judge Michael Zungali on five felony counts each of disseminating explicit sexual material to a minor and unlawful contact with a minor-obscene and other sexual materials and performances and five misdemeanor counts each of disorderly conduct hazardous/physical offense and corruption of minors.
In a second case, Brothers was arraigned on two felony counts each of disseminating explicit sexual material to a minor and unlawful contact with a minor-obscene and other sexual materials and performances and two misdemeanor counts each of corruption of minors and disorderly conduct-hazardous/physical offense.
He posted 10% of $50,000 bail in each case and was released. His preliminary hearings are set for Sept. 6 before Zungali.
