New hires and promotions
Dennis Doll, a long-standing board member and former Reliance Bank president and CEO, has been appointed to the position of board chair.
Doll joined Reliance Bank in 1995, later serving as president and CEO from 2015 to 2021. Dennis has remained an active board member since his retirement.
Doll succeeds Bruce Hostler as board chair. Bruce was Reliance Bank’s second president and CEO. He served as the board chair twice, most recently from 2017 to 2025. Hostler will continue to serve as a board member.
Brian Bell of Hollidaysburg has been appointed by Kish Bank to the position of vice president, middle market relationship manager. Bell is based primarily out of Kish Bank’s Pleasant Valley Boulevard branch in Altoona, serving both the Blair and Centre county markets.
Bell brings more than 25 years of community banking, business development and lending experience to Kish Bank. In his new role, Bell will procure and expand opportunities with emerging local businesses by developing and enhancing relationships among Kish, its clients and the community.
Course competitions and certifications
Jennifer Long, secretary-treasurer of Tyrone Township, recently graduated from the Pennsylvania Municipal Government Academy, a leadership and municipal education program of the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors.
In this year’s graduating class, nine individuals, including Long, completed the diploma program by earning 60 points from across the four categories. Twelve individuals completed the certificate program by earning 30 points in the administration or planning categories.

Lindsay Detwiler, a Hollidaysburg author, is featured in the new book “Chicken Soup for the Soul: What I Learned from My Cat,” contributing the story “A Senior Cat and the Value of Memories” that highlights the meaningful connections we share with our cats and the valuable lessons they teach us.
Detwiler is a USA Today bestselling author of romance and thriller novels, including “The Widow Next Door” with
HarperCollins. She is a high school teacher and lives with her husband, her cats and her Great Dane Edmund.
