What products or services does your company provide?

McCall Media provides general digital media services. This includes: general photography (wedding and engagement photography, senior photography, maternity photography, family photography, business product photography, etc.); videography services (small business commercials, wedding videography, product reviews, etc.); social media account management; and website designs and builds.

Who are your customers?

In terms of photography, my customers are mostly younger adults looking for a wedding and/or engagement photographer. For videography services, I provide a lot of outdoor video services to outdoor brands/hunting companies, as well as wedding videography and small start-up businesses. For social media management and website building, my customers are mainly the younger age class that are starting up and need help or the older age group who are not tech savvy and need assistance in building their company.

What is your business day like?

My business days consist of editing and organizing photos or videos, working with customers on requests or questions, building and updating websites and constantly running social media accounts to make sure I get them to where they need to be. I also have an intern (Chase Clouser) working with me daily to help build the brand and business in the area.

What is the best business advice you have received?

The best advice I have received is that the first year or two of business is tough. Know how to market yourself and know how to handle your revenue. Also, with the digital media market being saturated, separating myself in terms of quality work and customer satisfaction is crucial.

What is the most important thing you’ve learned on the job?

The most important thing that I have learned is that each customer need or want is different. Being able to tailor my services to them and work together to create a solid social media following or a user-friendly website is hands down the most important thing that I have learned. Also, to add to that, each photo shoot or video I put together for a client, I make sure it has a purpose and is making their vision or emotion come to life.

What does the future hold?

2020 is a busy year for me. I would like to take it one day at a time and make sure I do not sacrifice quality or lack attention to detail for any of my work. As my portfolio builds up and my business’s social media accounts grow, the future will be prosperous.

What have you read lately that has influenced your business life?

I listen to a podcast occasionally known as Real Business Owners. They are easy to relate to. I let the fire and drive within myself influence me daily. A client that’s happy with the end result of any service I provided them with is something that drives me to be better daily.
