Penn State Altoona to launch program
Penn State Altoona will launch its new College 2 Career: Work-Based Learning Program this fall.
C2C is a partnership with area employers that brings the classroom and workplace together. This collaboration helps students gain hands-on experience and professional confidence while building a pipeline for regional employers.
The program, available to interested students in all majors and class years, integrates career preparation coursework, paid summer work-based learning experiences and workforce engagement to prepare students for post-graduation success.
Through enrolling in a one-credit course, students will explore major and career pathways, identify strengths and interests and learn foundational professional skills. They will also create a resume, build a LinkedIn profile, and network with professionals.
A key component of C2C is the Consortium of Employers, which consists of companies that partner with Penn State Altoona to offer internship experiences as part of the educational curriculum. There is no cost for members, and Penn State Altoona offers assistance with posting positions as well as recruiting and managing students during their internship experiences.
