Courtney Springman, Brooks DuBose

Courtney Louise Springman of Atlanta and Brooks Easter DuBose of Charles-ton, S.C., were united in marriage at 5:30 p.m. May 21 at the Waterside Chapel of Palmetto Bluff in Bluffton, S.C.

The double-ring ceremony was officiated by Chuck Roberts, pastor at Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Atlanta.

The bride is the daughter of Paul Jacob and Sondra Springman of Atlanta. The mother of the bride is formerly of Bellwood, and the father of the bride is formerly of Altoona. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gervase Springman, who lived in Altoona, and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Gault Jr., who lived in Bellwood.

The bridegroom is the son of Diana DuBose of Camden, S.C., and the late Charles Wills DuBose. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Perkins DuBose Jr., who lived in Camden and the late Mr. and Mrs. Donald Woodward Easter, who lived in Charlottesville, Va.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father.

Brooke Springman Brennan, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. Maid of honor was Edith Wills DuBose, sister of the groom. Bridesmaids were Karen Elizabeth Carter, Lindsay Florence Clonts, Katherine Evans Houser, Lauren Sarah Jones, Caroline Chia Kuo, Emily Elizabeth Muhlberger, Erin Danielle Papka and Emily Elizabeth Sandberg.

Douglas Follet Easter, cousin of the groom, served as best man.

Groomsmen were Burwell DeSaussure Boykin, James Michael Brennan, Graham Kennedy DuBose Jr., John Phillip Griswold, David William Douglas Maley, Jason David Porter, William Page Sands, Carter Moore Sherwood and Paul Jacob Springman Jr., brother of the bride.

Music for the ceremony and reception was provided by Equinox Orchestra of Savannah, Ga. Flowers that adorned the cross within the Waterside Chapel were given in memory of the groom’s father.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted the dinner and reception on the May River Lawn followed by dancing in the Oak Ballroom.

The groom’s mother hosted a rehearsal dinner in the Oak Ballroom.

Following a honeymoon in Italy, the couple will reside in Charleston.

Mrs. DuBose graduated from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, with a bachelor of science degree in nursing and later received a master of science degree in nursing from Emory University, Atlanta.

The bride was employed with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta for 12 years prior to marriage, where she served as both a nurse and pediatric nurse practitioner caring for children with cancer and blood disorders.

Mr. DuBose graduated from Hampton-Sydney College, Hampton, Va., with a bachelor of arts degree in economics.
