Portage Public Library to host STEM program

The Portage Public Library will offer a STEM Program for children in kindergarten through sixth grade four times per month from Sept. 2 through May 20. STEM instructional tools and toys such as Sphero, Botley, Cubettos, iRoot and Osmo will be utilized from the IU8’s lending library provided by funding from the CSB2 STEM Ecosystem and Library state aid. Penn Highlands adds two members to Board of Trustees

JOHNSTOWN — The Pennsylvania Highlands Community College Board of Trustees has added two new members in Lladel Lichty and Jennifer Mitchell, with their terms having begun in August. Lichty, who is the Somerset County Director of the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies, will serve as the board representative for Somerset County. Mitchell, who is the superintendent of Huntingdon Area School District, will represent Huntingdon County. Lichty and Mitchell will replace Tyson Cook and James Foster, respectively. Join Cub Scouts on Sept. 11

Cub Scout Pack 3331 will hold an open house from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11, at St. Mary’s Church Social Hall, 312 Clark St., Hollidaysburg. Boys will learn about balloon history from Balloons by Miss Choo, and get a chance to make their own balloon creation. The Cub Scout pack is open to boys in kindergarten through fifth grade.
