Prince Gallitzin State Park, Patton, will be celebrating National Get Outdoors Day from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at Muskrat Beach Area 2. This free outdoor recreation event is for people of all ages and skill levels to learn a new outdoor activity or find tips on current favorites. There will be a variety of stations set up for everyone to visit at their own pace including disc golf, fly fishing, spin cast fishing, archery, kayaking, geocaching, volunteering (Friends of Prince Gallitzin State Park) and more. Registration is not required. All equipment for these activities will be provided, and fishing licenses are not required while fishing under an instructor’s direction. Registration is now open for Choral Institute 2026 offered by the Academy of Sacred Music. Academy founder and Hollidaysburg native Robert Long will lead singers who are interested in developing their skills in the art of choral singing. The Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art at Bedford’s Summer Painting Workshops series continues with “Explore the Wonders of Watercolor,” a three-session watercolor workshop led by Susan Bragg from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 26, Friday, July 3, and Friday, July 31, in the historic Anderson House at 137 E. Pitt St., Bedford. Participants will build skills in color mixing, shapes, shadows, substrate and abstract watercolor exploration.
