Natalie Buchanan and Sean Joyce, both of Washington, D.C., were engaged to be married earlier this month while in New York City. They met while both working for the U.S. Congress.

Miss Buchanan is the daughter of Buck and Theresa Buchanan of Madison, Miss.

She is a graduate of Madison Central High School and Mississippi State University with a degree in political science and communications.

Miss Buchanan is the director of member services for the U.S. House Republican Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy.

Mr. Joyce is the son of John and Alice Joyce of Altoona.

He is a graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School, Altoona, and The University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

In 2015, he received a master’s degree in strategic securities studies from the Naval War College in Newport, R.I.

He serves as the chief of staff for U.S. Congressman Patrick McHenry, who is the U.S. House Republican chief deputy whip.
