Altoona chess tournament starts July 9 The first round of the 2026 Altoona City Chess Tourament will begin on July 9, with the final round on Aug. 6. Registration fee is $15 with all money going toward prizes. These will be unrated games (five round Swiss system with one round per week). Games may be played during the regular meeting of the Altoona Chess Club at the Altoona Area Public Library from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., or at any other time before the next round.
