The Miracle League of Blair County will host an exhibition baseball game Saturday, Aug. 8, featuring players from the newly forming Miracle League at Roxbury Park in Cambria County. “We are excited to provide a real baseball experience for the new players from Roxbury,” said Joe Reed, president of the Miracle League of Blair County. “We couldn’t be happier that Cambria County has initiated plans for a field in Roxbury Park. Glenn to speak on water for PRR shops

The Railroaders Memorial Museum will host historian Mark Glenn at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7, as part of its 2026 Along the Broadway: Historical Lecture Series. Glenn will present “The Unique Blair Gap Water System for PRR Shops,” exploring how the Pennsylvania Railroad Shops in Altoona secured the water needed to operate steam locomotives and the massive shop complex. Doors open at 6 p.m. in the Seidel Auditorium. Admission is $5. Seating is limited. Tickets are available at the door, on the museum’s website and through its Facebook page.
