Rotary distributes $14,750 in grants

The Rotary Club of Altoona presented grants totaling $14,750 to nine local organizations during its meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 1. The funding was made possible through proceeds raised earlier this year from the club’s annual Grapes for Good fundraiser. The grants will support a variety of programs and initiatives that benefit residents throughout Blair County and surrounding communities. Health, welfare council to meet Sept. 25 The Blair County Health and Welfare Council will meet at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at The United Way of the Southern Alleghenies, 208 Hollidaysburg Plaza, Duncansville. There will also be a Zoom option available. Senior Judge Jolene Kopriva will be the guest speaker. She will be presenting on the US Constitution rights and duties.
