Doctorate: Aimee Smith-Pirollo

Aimee Smith-Pirollo received her doctor of physician assistant studies at the winter commencement ceremony at the University of Pittsburgh on Dec. 17, 2023.

She is a 2002 graduate of Altoona Area High School. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor of science degree in rehabilitation science and her master of science degrees in physician assistant studies and health and physical activity.

She is an adjunct faculty at the University of Pittsburgh.

She is a physician assistant in emergency medicine and a clinical preceptor. She works with the UPMC Office of the Advanced Practice Provider, as the lead developer of simulation and education, and holds a position as curriculum developer at WISER, the medical simulation center at the University of Pittsburgh.

She is a member of Pi Alpha, the National Honor Society for Physician Assistants and an Outstanding Alumna of the University of Pittsburgh Physician Assistant Program.

She is the daughter of Dick and Karen Smith of Altoona.

Aimee and her husband, Marc, live in Pittsburgh with their four children: Elyse, Damian, Dominic and Evie.
