Ronald Lee Ecker Sr., 88, of Altoona, passed away June 11, 2026. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2026, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 806 11th St., Altoona, with Father Frank Scornaienchi. Arrangements by Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Altoona.

Kevin L. Hite

Kevin L. Hite, 66, Hollidaysburg, died Friday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Lock Haven, son of the late William A. and Clara D. (LaMorte) Hite. Surviving are his wife, Jeanne (Mock) Hite; a daughter, Kathryn McNally (Daniel); a granddaughter, Mackenzie McNally; a sister, Kathryn Hileman (Scott); and several nieces and nephews. Kevin was a graduate of Altoona Area High School. He was the former owner of Hite Locksmith. At Kevin’s request, there will be no public viewing. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., Duncansville.

Frank W. Kowalczyk

Frank W. Kowalczyk, 79, of Flinton, died Saturday. He was born in Coupon, son of the late Frank and Jean (Zugay) Kowalczyk. His wife, Caroleann, preceded him in death. Surviving are a son, Keith (Amy); a brother, John; sister, Patricia Conrad; grandchildren: Kyrsten Mulhollen, Joshua and Nikolas; and great-grandchildren: Madeline, Lacey and Brynlee. Frank was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed socializing and spending time with family. A private military graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Gloria Jean ‘Jeannie’ Wallace

Gloria Jean “Jeannie” Wallace, 81, Duncansville, died Monday. She was born in Baltimore, Md., daughter of the late Albert W. and Bessie Edna (Martin) Nolan. Her husband, Darrell, preceded her in death. Surviving are four sons: Robert, Joseph, David and Corey Cherry; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Nolan. Jeannie was a graduate of Altoona High School and previously enjoyed crafting and crocheting. There will be no public services.
