James Joseph “JJ” Johnston Sr., 65, of Woodbridge, Va., lost his hard-fought battle with cancer on Monday, Dec. 15, 2025. JJ passed peacefully in his sleep with his wife, Sandy, by his side. Richard Terrence Kane, 84, of Meadow View Nursing Center, Berlin, Pa., and formerly of Altoona, died Thursday. He was born in Altoona, a son of the late Walter A. and Reba I. (McCartney) Kane. Surviving are three siblings: James A. Kane, Sue K. Neilson and Debbie C. Smith. He served as a Private in the United States Army and was an avid golfer.
