Claysburg woman to appear on Dr. Phil

CLAYSBURG – A Queen woman who was charged with having a child with a 14-year-old boy will appear today on the Dr. Phil Show.

Brittany Weyandt, 21, was arrested in August 2012 after she gave birth to the child and pleaded guilty to statutory sexual assault, a felony, in March. She faced three other felony charges that were dropped with her plea.

The episode, titled “Pageant Mom: Did She Put Her Daughter In Danger?” will air at 3 p.m. on WJAC-TV.

Viewers are warned that episode contains “strong sexual content,” according to the show’s website.

Police said Weyandt had sex with the teen a number of times between December 2011 and March 2012. She was sentenced to two years probation after pleading guilty.

Weyandt was 20 years old at the time of the affair and has two other children.

Dr. Phil McGraw will examine “Weyandt’s behavior and the consequences she now faces” during the episode, Judy Park, media supervisor for the show, wrote in an email.

McGraw will also offer Weyandt advice to help her move forward, according to the show’s website.

The episode will also delve into why Weyandt blames the 14-year-old for the relationship as she “thought” he was older, according to the site.

The episode featuring Weyandt was filmed on Nov. 19, Park said.

Weyandt was also charged with assault in June stemming from a May 2012 argument. Police said she struck a man on the back of the head and chased him at a home on Appletree Lane in Claysburg.

A pageant mom who bleached her 9-year-old daughter’s teeth and dyed her eyelashes will also appear on the episode.
