Terry Lee Oakes, 79, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Friday at Garvey Manor Nursing Home, Hollidaysburg. He was born in Altoona, a son of the late Chalmer and Loreen "Sis" (Angle) Oakes.
He was united in marriage to the former Charyl (Bartley) Oakes on Sept. 23, 1965.
Along with his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Alicia Reilly, married to Matthew of Jacksonville, Fla.; granddaughters, Ashley Bistline of Altoona and Lauren Reilly in Florida; brother, Randy Oakes, married to Joni of Lakemont; and favorite sister and brother-in-law, Jackie and John Kephart.
Terry was a graduate of Altoona High School Class of 1964. After graduation, he went on to serve in the United States Navy from 1966-70.
Terry worked as a lithographer for Butterick Co. Inc. until his retirement.
He enjoyed reading and gardening, and was an avid Penn State University and Steelers fan.
Friends and family will be received from noon until 2 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2025, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., 108 Alto-Reste Park, Altoona. Military Honors will take place at 2 p.m.
If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Terry to The Blair County Veteran's Honor Guard.
