Park Medical Alert opens

Park Security Systems has unveiled a new sister company — Park Medical Alert.

The mobile medical alert device will allow customers and their older family members to experience peace of mind while maintaining their independence as they age.

Users of this Wi-Fi and GPS driven device will be able to carry their “safety net” with them, remaining confident that no matter how far they travel, their welfare will not be compromised. Any slip or fall will be detected, and an operator is always available in case of an emergency.

Apollo 18 meeting planned

Apollo 18 will hold a meet and greet event from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Cataylst Space, 1331 12th Ave., Suite 205, in Altoona.

The event will introduce a new crypto­currency-based organization launching in Altoona and will detail the roadmap and plan moving forward.

Kirk Durbin is the founder of The Apollo Project, an initiative geared toward education surrounding security, cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.

He has performed security audits, incident response projects and consulted numerous companies in a variety of business sectors as well as speaking in various educational settings in the central Pennsylvania region, including public seminars and entrepreneurial groups.
