Safe driving course offered for seniors

HARRISBURG — State Rep. Jim Rigby (R-Cambria/Somerset) is partnering with Seniors for Safe Driving to offer two Mature Driver Improvement courses in August and September.

The PennDOT-approved course is designed for seniors aged 55 and older at a cost of $17. Completing the course will earn participants a minimum 5% discount on auto insurance premiums over a three-year period.

The courses will be offered from 5 to 9 p.m. Aug. 12 at the Cresson Volunteer Fire Company, 223 Ashcroft Ave., Cresson, and from noon to 4 p.m. Sept. 15 at the Solomon Run Fire Hall, 176 Mt. Airy Drive, Johnstown.
