A jury of five men and seven women are deliberating on criminal homicide and related charges after being given their instructions by Cambria County Judge Tamara Bernstein on Friday morning.

Austin Louis Kline, 25, is on trial for the 2023 killing of 55-year-old Robert Morgan, an Altoona resident who Kline had hired to perform excavation work at his South Fork residence.

Before deliberations began, the jury heard from expert forensic pathologist Courtney Healy as the prosecution’s last witness, as well as closing arguments. Kline did not take the stand in his own defense and the defense did not offer any evidence of its own.
