Nine area wrestlers advancing at LHAC tourney

TYRONE — Nine wrestlers from the Mirror coverage area advanced to the semifinals of the first Laurel Highlands Championships on Friday at Tyrone High School. Tyrone advanced four to the semifinals in Logan Rumberger (127), Kyle Scott (172), Andrew Weaver (189) and Braden Ewing (285). Penn Cambria advanced three in Layton Munyon (121), Trent Hoover (152) and Nick Summerville (215). The Golden Eagles are ninth in the team standings with 69.5 points, while the Panthers (56.5) are 11th. Slow start hinders Tyrone

CLEARFIELD — With Tyrone forfeiting three weight classes and Clearfield recording four pins and a technical fall, there wasn’t much drama in the first nine weight classes.
