Name: Payton Hinish School: Claysburg-Kimmel Age: 14 Grade: Freshman Sport: Softball Athlete of the week achievement: Hinish went 1-for-3, but her hit was a huge one. Trailing 1-0, Hinish hit an 0-2 pitch over the fence for a grand slam that put Claysburg-Kimmel ahead for good. She also drew a walk later in the game, and her pinch-runner scored another run. Name: Emalee Cavender School: Claysburg-Kimmel Age: 17 Grade: Junior Sport: Softball Athlete of the week achievement: Cavender didn’t give up an earned run in 12 innings pitched as Claysburg-Kimmel advanced to the District 6 Class 1A final with a 10-0 win over Bishop McCort and an 8-1 win over Glendale.
