Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic will host District 9 runner-up DuBois Central Catholic at Vets Field on Monday at 4 p.m. in the first round of the PIAA tournament.
The Marauders (16-7) won the District 6 Class 1A championship over Harmony earlier this week while top-seeded DuBois Central Catholic (17-5) was upset by Clarion after a seventh-inning rally.
The Mirror's other remaining core coverage area baseball team, Tyrone, will travel to Ellwood City to play WPIAL champion Riverside Monday at 3 p.m. in the 3A bracket. The team that beat Tyrone, Philipsburg-Osceola, will host Avonworth at 4 p.m. the same day.
In softball, Claysburg-Kimmel will take on WPIAL fourth seed Frazier at Central Cambria at 4 p.m. in the 1A bracket because the Lady Bulldogs did not meet some of the requirements to host a PIAA game.
Glendale will also be in action in the same field, taking on District 5 champion Meyersdale on the road in a rematch of last year's 6-5 Lady Vikings win. For more area matchups, please see Scoreboard.
