Athlete of the Week: Hinish slam leads C-K to title

Name: Payton Hinish

School: Claysburg-Kimmel

Age: 14

Grade: Freshman

Sport: Softball

Athlete of the week achievement: Hinish went 1-for-3, but her hit was a huge one. Trailing 1-0, Hinish hit an 0-2 pitch over the fence for a grand slam that put Claysburg-Kimmel ahead for good. She also drew a walk later in the game, and her pinch-runner scored another run.

Season update: Hinish hit .367 with four home runs, three doubles and scored 11 runs for the 20-3 Lady Bulldogs this year. Claysburg-Kimmel will play Frazier today in the PIAA playoffs.
