MINGOVILLE — The high school boys golf teams from Central, Bishop Guilfoyle and Penn Cambria competed in a Laurel Highlands Athletic Conference at the Nittany Country Club on Tuesday in a cross-section match where the Scarlet Dragons came out on top. STATE COLLEGE — Central senior Griffin Snowberger shot a 1-under par 71 to win the Happy Valley Invitational Class 2A boys individual championship Thursday afternoon at the Penn State White Course. CHS tennis coach hired

The Spring Cove School Board approved Shawn Coppersmith as the Central varsity head varsity girls’ tennis coach for the 2023-24 season Monday evening with a salary of $2,111.20. Coppersmith, who was the assistant varsity girls’ tennis coach for a little more than a year, is taking over for long-time coach John Riley who recently retired.
