Hollidaysburg boys tennis team off to strong start this season

The Hollidaysburg boys tennis team went indoors on Tuesday to defeat Westmont Hilltop, 5-0, in high school play at the Summit Tennis & Athletic Club.
Singles victories were earned by Garrett Bouchard, Felix Xu and Michael Waibel, while the doubles teams of Alex Arbogast and Jacob Sidney, and Aamir Azad and Cooper McAleer, were victorious.
The Golden Tigers are 2-0 while the Hilltoppers dropped to 0-1.

Mountain Lions fall
CARLISLE — The Altoona boys volleyball team opened its season Tuesday night with a 25-14, 25-23, 25-23 loss at Carlisle in high school action.
The Mountain Lions got 13 digs and seven service points from Logan Coldwell to go with nine digs and six assists from Caleb Terza, six digs from Max Coon and six digs from Parker Huey-Kish.

All-Star game at NBC
LOYSBURG — The Northern Bedford girls basketball team will be represented by two players and a coach in Sunday’s District 5 Athletic Directors’ Association All-Star Basketball Games.
Both games will be held at Northern Bedford County High School with the girls game at 4 p.m. and the boys game at 6 p.m.
Northern’s Jon Ewart will coach the East girls team, which will have Lady Panthers Halle Baker and Alyssa Yeatts.
Northern Bedford’s Nathan Eckenroad will play for the East boys team.
