Williamsburg hires new baseball coach

WILLIAMSBURG — Williamsburg resident Jerry Palmer was appointed as the varsity baseball head coach by the Williamsburg Community School Board during its meeting Tuesday evening. This will be Palmer’s second year helping out with the district’s varsity baseball team — he was a volunteer for the 2021-22 season. His appointment will be effective immediately, and he will receive a stipend of $2,554. As head coach, Palmer will be replacing Robert McCall, whose resignation was accepted by the board during its July meeting. — Rachel Foor

Bellwood hires baseball coach

From Mirror reports BELLWOOD — The Bellwood-Antis school board approved Adam Plummer as its new varsity baseball coach Tuesday night. Plummer takes over for Steve Conlon, who led the Blue Devils for the past 20 seasons and won a PIAA Class 1A championship in his first season as the B-A coach in 2003 with the help of Plummer who was on the team. Plummer pitched a two-hitter to lead Bellwood-Antis past Elk Lake, 2-1, in Harrisburg. Plummer also drove in a run with an RBI single in the game.
