Fighting Illini star will stand trial on rape charge

The Associated Press LAWRENCE, Kan. — A Kansas judge on Friday ordered University of Illinois basketball standout Terrence Shannon Jr. to stand trial on a rape charge following testimony from a woman who said she was “terrified” as she was being assaulted. Shannon, 23, of Champaign, Illinois, is accused of committing sexual assault on Sept. 9, in Lawrence, Kansas. Starocci returning for 24-25 season

Four-time national champion Carter Starocci announced on X late Wednesday night he was returning to the Penn State wrestling team for the 2024-25 season. Starocci will be seeking the first five-time national championship in NCAA Division I wrestling history.
