UNIVERSITY PARK -- The Big Ten Conference announced the home and away women's basketball schedule for the 2024-25 campaign on Tuesday, and Penn State is set to face eight opponents at home only, eight opponents away only and one at home and away.
The Lady Lions will face four different Big Ten opponents with the conference expansion and the addition of, Oregon, UCLA, USC and Washington.
The lone team Penn State will play both home and away is Rutgers, a border-state rival. Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Ohio State, Purdue, Wisconsin, Washington and Oregon will make the trip to Happy Valley while the Lady Lions will travel to play Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, UCLA and USC.
Penn State is 5-6 all-time against the four new members of the conference with a 3-0 record against Washington, a 1-2 margin against UCLA and a 1-4 record with USC. The Lady Lions will face the Oregon Ducks for the first time in program history. The most recent meeting between Penn State and one of the four new B1G members came last year in the Baha Mar Tournament in the Bahamas. The Lady Lions took the no. 8/10 Trojans to the wire, ultimately losing by just one point, 71-70.
Last year, Penn State earned its best overall season record, 22-13, since the 2013-14 season.
