Annual Special Olympics run set for Sunday

UNIVERSITY PARK — Ready, set, run with Special Olympics Pennsylvania (SOPA). More than 2,500 runners and walkers are expected to participate in the 17th annual Paterno Family Beaver Stadium Run, presented by Sheetz. The run will take place at 11 a.m. Sunday at Penn State’s University Park campus. Penn State men’s basketball coach Mike Rhoades announced on Monday the signing of Davidson transfer guard Roberts Blums ahead of the 2026-27 season. Blums, a Latvia native, was Davidson’s leading scorer during the 2025-26 campaign and comes to Penn State with two seasons of eligibility left. At Davidson, Blums appeared in 63 contests, averaging 12.4 points per game to go along with 3.4 rebounds per contest.
