Luke Donald back as European captain for Ryder Cup

VIRGINIA WATER, England — Luke Donald decided to return as Ryder Cup captain for Europe with a shot at making history as the only captain to win three straight times.

Not since Bernard Gallacher from 1991-1995 has someone been captain at three straight Ryder Cups. Donald led Team Europe to victory outside Rome in 2023, and then at Bethpage Black in New York last September.

– Top-ranked tennis player Aryna Sabalenka announced her engagement to Brazilian businessman Georgios Frangulis. Sabalenka posted a video of the proposal on Instagram, accompanied with the words “You & me, forever” along with a ring and heart emoji.

– Ally Sentnor scored in the 55th minute and the United States beat Canada 1-0 in the SheBelieves Cup tournament Wednesday night. Sentnor scored her seventh international goal off a corner from Rose Lavelle, gathering the ball on a bounce before punching it past two defenders and Canada goalkeeper Kailen Sheridan. It was the United States’ seventh straight shutout.
