Altoona’s Tanner Stroup leads Mainline Pharmacy in AAABA tournament

JOHNSTOWN — Altoona Area High School product Tanner Stroup enjoyed a monster game in helping Johnstown AAABA League champ Mainline Pharmacy dominate New York, 13-3, in seven innings in the national tournament at Sargent’s Stadium at the Point on Monday night. Stroup went 3-for-4 with two triples and five RBIs for Mainline, while Xander Richardson went 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs. West Suburban 14U softball team shut out in second World Series game

KIRKLAND, Wash. — The Johnstown-based West Suburban 14U softball team fell to 1-1 in the Little League Junior Softball World Series with a 2-0 loss to Foothill of Palo Cedro, Calif., on Monday. Foothill’s Kylie Kenyon was a one-person wrecking crew as she fired a complete-game five-hit shutout with no walks and also delivered a two-run first-inning home run for the only runs of the game.
