Week 4 in the books at Big Orange golf league
HUNTINGDON — The team of Geoff Clarke and Ed Gargula went 3-1 during week 4 action in the Big Orange Golf League at the Huntingdon Country Club.
Two teams were tied for second at 2-2: Bob Lamey-Gerry Huggler and Phil Thompson-Larry Newton. The team of Alan Herbster and Keith Black went 1-3.
Lamey and Clarke were the low gross winners at 40 while the low net winner at 32 was Huggler.
The shot of the day was Gargula’s tee shot on No. 8.
Summit CC
CRESSON — The team of Sam Mignogna, Kelly Mignogna and Matt Statler combined for a 53 to win the We Love The Summit Country Club Tournament at the Summit Country Club.
There was a four-way tie for second place at 54 between these teams: Terry Funcheon, Francis Pirozzola, Frank Szczechowicz, Bob Whiteman, Mitch Johns, Mark Peters, Mason McCarthy, Jacob Martynuska, Aloysius Lee and Mark Mardula, Brock Talko and Rick Perrone.
In other action, Gwen Paden and Pam Rohrer shot an 80 to capture the gross division (Flight A) 11th annual Ladies Invitational.
Finishing three strokes back at 83 was the team of Sue Leberfinger and Cindy Trimarco. The net division winners were Kathy Bottenfield and Connie Bolger (67) and Therese Perino and Sandy Smith (67).
Winning the Flight B Gross Division was the team of Alysha Kachur and Lisa Michelone with a 76. Taking second behind them was the team of Margie Coho and Carole Laich at 81. The Flight B winners were Sandy Murphy-Carol Young (65). Second place went to Lynn Durbin and Connie Angeski (70).
Sylvan Hills
HOLLIDAYSBURG — The team of Connie Angeski, Bonnie Deem and Pam Ergler combined to shoot a 37 to win the Sylvan Hills Ladies Golf Association Scramble at the Sylvan Hills Golf Club.
Finishing second at 38 (on a cardoff) was the team of Brenda Flick, Sue Mielnik, Doe Bolger and Yvonne Gentry. Kim Straesser, Donna Buck, Sue Green and Maddie Shea were third.
In Butch Focht Senior Men’s Tournament action, the team of Tom Shea, Jeff Vaughn won with a 34 on a cardoff against second-place finishers John Roland, Robin Weaver, George Mitchell and Joe Maus.
Joe DeGennaro, Gary Zimmerman, Dan Hegarty and Herb Bolger were third.
